Picture books for young children
Then all became silent, still and most odd
So Topper bent over and gave PJ a prod
"What's happened to us? It's all so so weird."
PJ looked pale and pulled his friend's beard.
He turned him around so he too could see
The unbelievable place that they seem to be
They both looked aghast what they saw with their eyes
A blue castle ahead with turrets as pies
“No one has seen her but I know she is there.
And I must get to her now, please help with my fare.“
She gathered the peas into two broken fins,
Let out a loud scream for her journey begins.
They both watched as the orange blob went on its way,
PJ turned to Topper “I don’t want us to stay.”
Topper, neatly dressed as was always the case,
Hitched himself up and pressed glass to his face.
The window pane that was almost all blocked,
With comics in piles and booked half-cocked.
He saw in the corner a sad fluffy bunny,
Slumped over some tea, eyes wet, nose runny.
Topper unlatched the window so to squeeze through
Hoping there was something that only he could now do.
